    Acropolis opened up its doors in 1989. We are a small establishment, run by the Villanucci family. The Villanucci brothers, Argirios and Elias combine over 30 years experience in the hospitality industry understand the importance of providing the customer with a fresh, innovative and welcoming setting offering high quality food & beverages. You can find them both at the restaurant on a daily basis working side by side with our amazing staff and assuring a great experience for their customers.  Since we opened we have been providing our customers with excellent food and drinks in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Enjoy our menu that chef Ilias Villanucci has created for you and don’t leave Acropolis without having tried our famous Black Angus beef steak! We highly recommend it! All members of our staff are here to cater to your needs and special requirements. We always do our best to meet and exceed your expectations. We want you to come as a customer, enjoy great food and leave as a friend.

    Our philosophy at Acropolis is simple: Everyone who walks through our doors is either already a friend, or will be. By embracing that theory, the Villanuccis know that every guest will have exceptional service, outstanding food and hopefully will know that whenever they walk into Acropolis, that they are coming home. To ensure that that philosophy saturates the restaurants, Argirios and Ilias have hired the best staff on the island of Karpathos. Executive chef, Ilias, has a handle on the culinary pulse of the Karpathos, offering regional favorites all the while making sure that every diner can find that “one dish” that makes the dining out experience worth while.

    Argirios is the somalier atAcropois and has developed an extensive wine, beer and cocktail list. He ahs used his years of experience to develop a list of wines that is extensive, but not intimidating or overbearing while at the same time rvoiding customers with the opportunity to taste selections from various Greek Wineries at comfortable prices. The beer list was developed to showcase the ever growing craft been offerings from around the world as well as the local favorites. Our cocktails taste just as good as they look and we highly recomment that you try at lease one during your visit! Through constant evaluations, training and research, Argirios is constantly updating the beverage program to meet the current customer trends and demand.

    Elias Villanucci

    Executive Chef
    Elias has been in the industry for over 30 years. His passion and commitment to food has taken him to many countries where he acquired new skills as a chef and gained valuable insight into all aspects of the catering industry. The concept of his menu is to take traditional Mediterranean flavors and infuse them with influences from the East and the West, using only the freshest and finest ingredients that are available to us during the summer season. He is always keen to experiment and show what he can do. Expect to see a few new dishes on the menu this year. Meanwhile regular visitors to Acropolis can still enjoy the old favorites they know and love. All of our menu items are designed and created from scratch in house by Elias and his team.

     
    • Everything is excellent. Best Food, all of the staff from chef to waiters. It is my favorite place to both eat and mingle after dinner. It can feel very busy and crowdy between 19.30-22.00 but as a guest you will always get attention and always have smiling staff. And the excellent food is worth a bit waiting time. They have the best wine in the island and the cocktails after dinner or the great Irish coffee whits are served at the table are the best ever. Love the restaurant and love all of the staff.

    • The only restaurant in Karpathos that serves Black Angus beef. Great modern place with stunning view of the harbor nice vibe and great service from young intense waiters. My steak was cooked to perfection and was the best steak I ever had. My wife had the fillet mignon and it was even better than my steak. Visited September 2016.

    • First of all, the service is incredible! The waiters are incredibly friendly and accommodating, readily helping you pick what you like and giving suggestions on what to choose. Secondly, the food is delicious! The price may be slightly higher that in other restaurants but it's all worth it.
